Coaching for Investment Professionals
I spent 18 years at some of the world's top hedge funds, and I've felt it all. The excitement of life-changing years, the stress of investments going wrong, wildly fluctuating levels of confidence in my own ability, anxiety about almost anything, and an urgency to feel more joy again.
The finance industry can be an extraordinary training ground for mastering your mindset. What it takes is a reorientation to the intensity of it all, and the recognition that you can change your experience today rather than needing your next achievement to change it for you.
Your ambition, endurance, and even your harsh inner critic deserve a lot of credit for getting you this far. We don't want to lose that power, but at some point the life-changing insights come from more balance and a quieter mind rather than doubling down on productivity.
Ease, spaciousness, and self-connection aren't a prize at the end of the game; they're prerequisites for winning. These states don't just feel better. They're what actually allow for growth in your personal and professional life.
We welcome everything that arises, catch the unhelpful ruminations, and bring the right tools to untie knots along the way. Rather than my advice, it's your own wisdom that you're finally able to hear over the noise.
I'll learn more about you, give some initial impressions, and answer any questions you may have.
Typically eight to twelve sessions, usually held over Zoom. The program has an end because the point is transformative growth, not indefinite support.
I'll offer practices to build self-knowledge and resources to expand on our work together.
I always knew I wouldn't work at a hedge fund forever, but it was a perfect fit for the first half of my career. By the time I left in 2024, I was a Managing Director at Castle Hook Partners, one of the highest performing multi-billion-dollar hedge funds of the last decade. It was a dream job, but I was never able to take my mind off of work. I couldn't slow down enough to enjoy my two young kids, and I had no time for my marriage. I had speaking anxiety that came out of nowhere and rarely felt present or joyful.
When I left, I had little idea what I would do next. My plan was to do a new deep-dive every week for a year. Either I'd wind up with 52 interesting projects, or something would feel right enough to drop everything else. It turns out that thing was coaching. I spent a year healing my mind, my body and my relationships. I dedicated myself to exploring the inner experience and learning how to guide others in doing the same. I found energy, connectedness and joy again. Now I'm committed to sharing with others what I wish I'd known all along.
Every part of you is welcome here. When you're ready, send me a note and we'll set up a time to talk.
